The Ijaw Monitor-ing Group (IMG) has faulted media campaign accusing oil minister Mrs Diezani Madueke of buying billions of Naira house outside the country through corrupt practices in the oil industry.
In a statement signed by comrade Joseph Evah on behalf the group, the Ijaw stated that its finding revealed that media attack on the minister since her re-nomination as oil minister was sponsored by a cabal that is not comfortable with the reforms going on in the oil industry which has forced oil companies to relocate their headquarters to Niger Delta from Lagos.
“We are aware of the existence of a cabal that wanted their choice to be appointed oil minister and they are expressing their anger.”
They are expressing their disappointment by raising false alarm and parading lies and misinformation against the minister to rubbish her character before the public. This latest allegation accusing the minister of buying property outside the country worth billions of dollars was carefully prepared to coincide with the gas exporting countries summit in Doha,Qatar where the minister and world leaders are attending in order to ridicule her image in the eyes of the International community; but the cabal has failed because their dubious agenda was also exposed through various internet channels as well as through the foreign media.
The group further urged Nigerians and the international community to continue to ignore other falsehood being put together by the cabal in order to install their choice as petroleum minister.
