Edo State Executive Governor, Comrade Adams Aliu Oshomhole, says he feels that despite his huge love for the labour movement, sports and particularly football, is now a competing force with his first love.
“The way and manner the Super Eagles dazzled all at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, showed that. I may have missed my calling and, and many were also surprised that I jogged all over the stadium to urge the team to win. I think we have a coach and a team that can redefine Nigerian football.
The Comrade Governor, says he was pleased with the outing of the team, while admonishing Nigerian football authorities not to lay off coaches who have achieved and play on sentiments in the appointments of new coaches.
“I learnt there was a coach who qualified Nigeria twice for the World Cup, on both occasions he was kicked out, there was another who could not make the Nations Cup and we were thinking about his future, we must measure all our coaches with the same degree”.
Governor Oshiomhole, said despite the goalless draw against the Zebras of Botswana, he was sure that the Nigerian side will win in Tuesday’s international against Zambia’s Chipolopolo.
