Aregbesola’s wife warns against child trafficking

OSOGBO— Wife of Osun State Governor, Mrs Sherifat Aregbesola has emphasised the need for parent to stop using their children as means of making money, as it amount to child trafficking.

She said this while hosting Muslim children at the government house to a special Eid-el-kabir children party in the state capital.

The first lady lamented the rate at which parents send their wards into slavery, using them as house help through which they reap money.

She said: “It is very important that parents should stop using their children as house help as this is against the law, it is an act of child trafficking and it is illegal.”

According to her, parents should exploit the free education of the state government and send the children to school  to guarantee them a better future them.

She said that refusing to send children to school is contrary to the law of the state adding that government would not hesitate to punish such parents.
