Former assistant coach of the home based Super Eagles, Erasmus Onuh, has said the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF deserves full accolades for their handling of the Samson Siasia saga, saying this was the first time the NFF hearts for it’s actions rather than outcry as cases in the past showed.

Speaking to Saturday Vanguard Sports from Abuja, Onuh, a past handler of Jigawa Stars, OUK Football Club nd Bukola Babes said “we all supported Siasia on the job but since targets set by the FA for him was in black and White and he failed to meet those targets, I think the FA acted in public interest by the action they took and again I give them kudos. We are in support because it was a contractual agreement which no one can fault, and it which is the first time they are to accord such to a Nigerian coach.”

“A lot has been said but the FA is in order. Recall that I was a victim of similar sack action by the FA in not too distant past. Then, Okay Emordi, myself and goalkeeper Ita Egbe without contracts were given the task to prepare the team for the inaugural African Nations Championship. However, Emordi never completed the job because he left sometime in 2010.

Upon the exit of Emordi, Onuh took over the team but was never allowed to take it to logical conclusion. NFF suddenly deployed Dan Amokachi to the squad as new handler in the last qualifying stages but it ended in disaster as Nigeria was booted out by Niger Republic which went to the tournament instead.

All the coaches were given the matching orders from the FA. We quietly left because we had no contract to back our being on the job.
