Enugu, Anambra to partner on mono-rail project

Enugu—Anambra and Enugu State governments have commenced plans to embark on the construction of a monorail project to link the two states.

The Chief of Staff to Enugu State governor, Mrs Ifeoma Nwobodo, made the announcement on Tuesday in Enugu in a chat with members of the  Correspondents Chapel of  Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ.

Nwobodo said the project, which would have started in the state before this time, was delayed due to some logistics problems.

According to her, the project, which will be executed in phases, will commence during the first quarter of next year.

On the multi-million-naira International Conference Centre abandoned by the past administration, the chief of staff said that government was looking for private investors to take over the project.

She said that government could not afford the bill presented by the firm that started the project hence it decided to look for investors.
