LAGOS—A Yaba Magistrate’s Court, Lagos, yesterday, refused to take the plea of 45-year-old Alfa  Sadu, who was arraigned over the  murder of a 26-year-old graduate, Michael Adigun.

According to Magistrate Salamah Matepo, it was necessary for the court to get the advice of the state’s Director of Public Prosecution, DPP, before the plea of the accused can be taken.

Sadu, who was charged for possessing a human skull, murder and conspiracy, was ordered remanded in prison, pending DPP’s advice.

The accused and his accomplices, on September 9, 2011 at Eric Moore Road, Surulere, Lagos, were alleged to have murdered one Kosoko, and also conspired and killed Adigun in April 2011 also at Eric Moore Road.

The prosecutor,  Omoniyi Samuel, an Inspector informed the court that Kosoko’s skull was found in the room of the accused during police search.

“The gang hit Adigun’s head with a stone, and after killing him, they cut-off the two of his palms,” Samuel said, adding that the alleged offences contravened Sections 319 (1), 324, 329 and 516 of the Criminal Code of Lagos State.

Vanguard gathered that Adigun corpse was found in front of an abandoned building at Eric Moore, by a landlord in the area. Saheed, accomplice in the alleged killing of Adigun was said to be on the run.

The deceased, an HND holder from the Universal College of Technology, Ile-Ife, Osun State, left his elder brother’s place at Sani Balogun Street, Abule Egba, Lagos for a job hunt in Apapa, when he fell into the hands of his murderers.

Further hearing of the case was adjourned till November 16, 2011.
