ABUJA—FORTY- ONE years after the Nigeria civil war, memories of it came alive yesterday as Senate President, David Mark, called for continued process of nation building and national reintegration by healing the wounds of the past.

According to the Senate President, redressing unjust structures and ensuring justice and security for all, was the only way to honour the memories of the heroes and heroines of the war as well as ensure that they did not die in vain.

Speaking yesterday at the presentation of a book, Nigeria/Biafra Civil war: My Experience, written by former Imo State governor, Achike Udenwa, the Senate President, who was represented by Chairman, Senate Committee on Education, Senator Uche Chukwumerije, said, ‘’as we continuously ponder on the events leading to the war and its aftermath, the sacrifices of the men and women who died in the war should never be lost to us.”
