The national women football team, the Super Falcons will depart the shores of this country for Cameroon to keep a date with the Indomitable Lionesses for a ticket to the 2012 London Olympics.

In their final preparations Tuesday, coach Eucharia Uche disclosed that the team was upped to 20 instead of the usual 18.

Some of the invited players were dropped while some new faces were included in the squad which will be facing the All Africa Games gold medalists in Yaounde this weekend.

FC Robbo attacker, Asisat Oshoala, defender Augustina Egwim of Delta Queens, Rivers Angels defender, Gloria Ofoegbu, Rosemary Umeh of Nassarawa Amazons , Rivers Angels Martina Ohadugha and Bayelsa Queens Cecillia Nku make up the list of rookies.

Eight players were decamped. They include Joy Jegede, Jennifer Osawaru, Blessing Edoho, Esther Edem and Promise Sike.

Others are Ezinne Mbalisi, Janet David and Chinaza Nhetewesi.

The dropped players were immediately paid their camp bonus as well as other entitlements. The team will now depart for Cameroon on Thursday against the initial Wednesday date and will return to the country on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Sweden-based trio, Perpetua Nkwocha, Rita Chikwelu and Helen Ukaonu arrived at the team’s Millennium Hotel camp in Abuja on Monday afternoon.

Nkwocha’s teammate at Sunnana SK, Sweden, Faith Ikidi was the last to arrive.
