It has emerged that the Technical Committee of the Nigeria Football Federation wants the contract of Eagles Coach, Samson Siasia to be respected.
Siasia’s contract with the NFF states that he must take Nigeria to the semifinal stage of the 2012 African Cup of Nations, a feat, which he cannot achieve, given that the Eagles failed to qualify for the tounament itself.
To this end, the committe after its meeting on Thursday, in one of its recommendations to the Executive Committee of the NFF, wants the contract to be respected by both parties, which effectively means that they want Siasia sacked.
“We looked at the clause of the contract and discovered that he cannot not meet the semifinal target because he could not qualify the team for the Nations Cup. We told the NFF to respect the contract”, a member of the committee said last night.
