LAGOS – MARITIME stakeholders have decried their non- inclusion by government in policy-making, a development they said had impacted negatively on the industry.
The stakeholders, led by Mr. Lucky Amiwero, President, National Council of Managing Directors of Licensed Customs Agents, NCMDLCA, said there was low level private sector stakeholders’ involvement in policy shaping meetings, such as the one held in August at the Senate Chambers, to look at activities of port concessionaires.
In a statement at the end of a post-public hearing evaluation on the Single Window in Lagos, weekend, stakeholders stated that sensitive government policies and decisions such as port concession were made without stakeholders’ consultations and input to arrive at a better position in the interest of the country.
