Leaders Manchester United rode their luck at Old Trafford against new boys Norwich before prevailing 2-0.

Manchester City put the Carlos Tevez saga behind them with a 4-0 win at Blackburn to increase the pressure on Steve Kean.

Second-half goals from Adam Johnson, Mario Balotelli, Samir Nasri and Stefan Savic were enough to give Roberto Mancini the perfect end to a difficult week with all three points at Ewood Park.

Liverpool beat Everton 2-0 at Goodison Park.
