Enyimba players and coaches are abuzz with the prospect of playing in the FIFA Club World Cup billed for December in Japan.

This was after reaching the semi-final of the CAF Champions League with six points clear. And as they face Morocco’s Wydad in the semi-final first leg billed for October 2, the general feeling in the camp of the players is for Enyimba to continue with their unbeaten run and win the continental title for a third time.

The benefit of that achievement would be a ticket to represent African at the Club World Cup.

Enyimba finished off the group A campaigns without losing a match. And according to coach Okey Emordi, making an appearance at the Club World Cup was the ultimate goal of the Aba based club side.

“Our main aim is to play at the Club World Cup. And so we are going into the Semi-final with a winning mindset, the target is to over come Wydad of Morocco.

”We will play to win, bu at this stage there are no small teams and we have to respect everybody.”

“Enyimba is well motivated. We have done it before and we look good to do it again,” said the coach.

Enyimba will be a away to Morocco for the first leg.

“I predict a tough match but we will make the most of the advantage of playing them first at home. That arrangement usually serves as an advantage. We will do everything possible to check the WAC challenge. No rest for us until we conquer all the clubs.”

Last year Congolese side TP Mazembe reached the final of the competition held in the United Arab Emirate, but they were outclassed by Inter Milan inspired by Samuel Eto’o.
