YOLA- Former Military Governor of Lagos and Borno states, Brigadier-General Mohammed Buba Marwa (rtd), Tuesday, asked the Federal Government to investigate causes of Boko Haram activities in some parts of the country as a way of putting an end to the menace.

Marwa in an interactive session with newsmen said: “When an issue of such sensitive nature is at hand, the only way of approaching it is to find out the causes of such problem before tackling it head long”.

Marwa said such approach would lead to discovery of what led to such state of affairs, be it injustice, religion fanaticism, unemployment, politics or ethnicity among other factors, to avoid re-occurence.

He observed that it was only when the issue was investigated that government could get close to resolving the problem as, according to him, no problem can be solved without knowing what caused such problem.

Marwa was also, of the view that when such steps were taken, the issue of Boko Haram which has now assumed international dimension in the country will be resolved, just as he expressed confidence that the peace moves being put in place by the Borno elders would surely lead to the resolution of the problem of Boko Haram.

The Congress for Progressive Change, CPC gubernatorial candidate for the 2012 election in Adamawa State dispelled rumours making round that he was contemplating decamping to the PDP, pointing out that such rumour was the handiwork of his political opponents which his supporters and admirers must disregard it in its entirety.
