..Gives tips on how to improve it
By KATE OBODO
Ex-International Monday Odiaka has said that the Nigeria Premier League (NPL) was going to fare better if former Nigerians players were involved in the running of the body. In a chat with Inside Out Premier League, Odiaka said that the current administrators of the league body have killing the game.
“We have no league for now, compared to what we had in those days when the league was so active, good and enticing to watch. Then you could see fans coming to watch the league matches, because of the way it was run. But what we are seeing now , is so shameful.
“They have killed the league and it is no longer interesting again to watch. A lot of things really went wrong in the league that is why it is where it is today. That is why we are clamouring for people who know the game, like former national footballers, to be in charge of the management of the NPL.
“If ex-internationals are involved in the management of the NPL, I believe things will change for the better.. We want the players to benefit more from playing football and only ex-footballers know how to make this happen because they once played the game and know what it takes to bring the crowd to the stadium”, added Odiaka.
