Kaduna – Shouts of Allah akbah! Allah akbah! (God is great) filled  the air, yesterday, in Kaduna when all the 14 passengers in a commercial bus, which plunged into River Kaduna were rescued alive.

The bus, said to have moved from Kawo, was going  to Sabon Tasha through Kasua (Central Market along Ahmadu Bello Way) when it skidded off the road, near   Ahmadu Bello Stadium, and plunged into the river, Sunday between 7:30pm and 9pm.

However, some fishermen and divers, who were at the bank of the river at the time of the incident, were said to have dived inside the water and rescued all the passengers including the driver and conductor.

Yesterday, when the news of the incident spread like wild fire, the site of the accident became a Mecca of sort as of people gathered on top of the River Kaduna bridge to catch a glimpse of the empty bus floating in the river.
