Nigerian Cultural House established in Salvador, Brazil in 2008 celebrated the first ever Nigeria’s Cultural Week in Salvador from the 3-5 September 2011 with Exhibition, Round table meeting, Cultural Performances and parades.
The Nigerian Delegation was led by High Chief Edem Duke, Hon. Minister of Tourism, Culture and National Orientation.

The occasion was also graced by many dignitories from Brazil and Nigeria including Prof Edwardo Butto, Deputy Mayor of Salvador, Hon Domingoes Juenelli, Bahia State Commissioner for Tourism, Ambassador Paulo Coideiro, representing the Governor of Bahia, Ronuilo Gavo, Chief of Culture Secretariat, Bahia State and HE Amb V. O Okoredion, Nigerian Ambassador to Brazil.
Most of the Heads of Cultural and Tourism agencies in Nigeria were also present.
The programme was well attended by the culture loving people of Bahia which is largely populated by descendants of Atlantic Slave trade who have traced their origins to the West coast of Africa, mostly Nigeria.
