LAGOS-There was pandemonium, yesterday, as factions of National Union of Road Transport Workers, NURTW, in Isolo area engaged themselves in a fierce battle of supremacy.
Eyewitness told Vanguard that a group of armed hoodlums from the state Chairman, had stormed the union’s base in Cele Bus Stop in three vehicles and reportedly opened fire shooting randomly. Their aim, it was gathered, was to remove the sitting chairman of the branch.

I initially thought it was armed robbery but later I saw people running in various directions. I saw some people lying on the ground bleeding.
“The situation was brought under control as some policemen from the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad, FSARS, arrived the scene.
Meanwhile, spokesman for FSARS, Lekan Ogundare, told Vanguard they got an intelligence report that some people were stockpiling arms and ammunition around Cele Bus Stop and they were going to cause some serious trouble.
He said: “We swooped in on them, made some arrest and recovered some arms and ammunitions.”
