The Executive Committee of the Nigerian Football Federation, NFF, has ordered the Nigerian Premier League, NPL, to organize fresh elections for its chairman and chairman of chairmen positions as directed by the court before Monday, September 5, 2011 or they will be forced to conduct it themselves.

The executive committee reached this decision during its last meeting at the glass house.

The committee frowned at the NPL’s slow process of organizing the election and agreed that failure by the NPL to conduct the election, they will be obliged to activate their own machinery to conduct the elections latest Thursday, September 15, 2011, in line with the order of the court that elections must be held within 45 days.

It will be recalled that an Abuja high court ordered a fresh election of the NPL’s chairmanship position and Chairman of chairmen.

Alao laments over JUTH’s poor position

Media Officer of Jos based Nigerian Premier League side, JUTH FC; Olusola Alao has expressed discontent over the position of his team on the log.

In a chat with Inside Out Premier League, he stated that it is painful to be at the bottom of the league table bearing in mind the depth of the squad.

“We are not finding it easy, it is a position that no team would want to be. We have a squad that is supposed to be challenging for the title but here we are today. It is sad for us, no doubt about it.

“We are hopeful of getting 12 points from the remaining four matches in the league. We will take each game as it comes in other to achieve this feat,” Alao said.

On the incessant adjournment of the concluding matches of the league by the Nigerian Premier League Board, the media chief of the teaching hospital side said, “It is not funny but we have no choice as the decision of when to play league matches lies solely in the hands of the NPL. Though we expect the team to be strategizing ahead of next season by now, we just have to go with the NPL decisions on matches,” Alao added.
