Former Director-General of the Nigerian Stock Exchange and Chairman, Strategic Business School SBS, Apostle Hayford Alile and Dr. Sam Ohuabunwa, Chief Executive Officer, Neimeth Pharmaceuticals Plc have called for the setting up of policies that will encourage entrepreneurial development and economic empowerment onin the country.
The duo made the call during the unveiling of the Elevators, African’s mass empowerment network, a promotion to provide an integrated platform for comprehensive empowerment for African youths, beginning with Nigeria.
Ohuabunwa, who gave the key note address called on government at various levels to put in policies that will make it possible for youths to tap into the numerous opportunities in the society.
He disclosed that there are numerous opportunities in the country for every Nigerian youth to tap from.
He said, “It is high time youths start employing labour rather than wait for white collar jobs which do not exist. If you can not get employment, you create an idea. Once there is a mindset which is key to empowerment, you can achieve even beyond your dream”.
Also speaking, Alile noted that the Elevators was conceptualised as an integrated platform for mobilising, inspiring and providing Nigerian and African Youths, the unemployed, students and small business entrepreneurs with comprehensive empowerment opportunities, wisdom and wealth for optimising their potentials, accomplishing their goals and maximising their societal impact.”
In his own remark, Chief Executive Officer, SBS, Professor Joseph Mba disclosed that the elevators is Africa’s mass empowerment network, committed to providing comprehensive empowerment to all who enter into the network through SMS, e-Payments and Direct Payments, stating that it benefits the participants in three different value dimensions: Opportunity site, Wisdom Circuit and Wealth Circuit.
Mba stated that, the programme will help Nigeria in her pursuit of poverty alleviation, human capital development, job and wealth creation, entrepreneurial development, as well as national socio-economic development through open information sourcing, societal value orientation, integrated learning, synergic networking, scholarships and grants, among others.
He explained that participants will span all youths, including students, prospective students of tertiary institutions, unemployed graduates as well as young entrepreneurs, micro and small scale business starters and owners.
Specifically, he noted that all participants need have at least JSS 3 Certificates, and not less than 15 years old are the minimum requirement for entry.
According to him, the Elevators will provide N40 million empowerment every quarter, that is, every three months, scheduled in the following order, free Online Success Opportunities to over 5,000,000 Nigerians, worth N5 million, free Learning and Certification to over one million Nigerians at N7 million.
