Deputy Commissioner of Police and head of the Force Intelligence Response Team, DCP Tunji Disu, made Nigeria proud in far away  Fort Lauderdale, United States of America , by winning  a silver medal at the 2022 US Open Judo championship.

The US Open Judo competition which started on July 28,2022 to August 3, 2022 had over 500 veteran championships from different parts of the globe. .  

Disu, contested in the minus 100kg category of the veteran division and made a podium finish on July 28,2022.

The former Rapid Response Squad,RRS Commander who  became a Judoka in 1986,  won two gold medals at the national festival in Bauchi state, in 1990.

He also won two medals at the Nigeria Police Games and a silver medal at the Armed Forces games.

Disu, who is Chairman of the  Police Judo Association and former chairman, Lagos State Judo association , has  won a gold medal at the first veteran championship organized by the Nigeria Police in November 2021.
