As the Flying Eagles play  France in the quarter final of the FIFA U-20 World Cup tomorrow,  ex-Green Eagles midfielder, Henry Nwosu has tipped the team to go all the way to the final and win provided necessary changes are made by the coach.

“Coach John Obuh must change his tactics to win while on the other hand, the players must improve on their shooting power, develop counter attack and have more possession and create territorial advantage, ” Nwosu said.

He noted that for France to have beaten Ecuador meant they mean business as  he pointed out that poor execution of match plan in the game against England caused their inability to come up with more goals as in previous outings.

Nwosu, a member of the 1980 winning Nations Cup Eagles  and a pioneer member of the first Flying Eagles team in 1979  said that “France would prove more difficult than England because I noticed lapses in our left back. Something needs to be done about it otherwise this could be exploited by the French if not nipped in the bud”, adding “if Coach Obuh should adopt a different approach, such as fortifying the defence, ensure that the players can execute counter attacks successfully, then chances are that we might score more goals and win this one and progress,” he stated.

“I would hope Obuh uses different tactics next time and get the midfield to play more cohesively with the attack to ensure goals can be scored when the time is right.I saw in the last game that they could not have plenty of possession and push for aerial advantage. But it was good that we won and I pray they can do more so we can have the cup this time because it is possible to achieve,” he added.
