The Athletics Federation of Nigeria have named a team of 17 athletes to represent the country at the forthcoming World Athletics Championships holding in Daegu, South Korea between August 27 and September 4, 2011.

The team include Nigeria’s men and women’s100 meters champions,  Ogho Oghene Egwero and Blessing Okagbare respectively.
Others in the team include Ajoke Odumusu, Damola Osayomi, Seun Adigun, among others.

Nigeria will be competing in the sprints and middle distance races. Team Nigeria will also compete in the relaysand field events such as shot put, high and long jump.

The official team list of Nigeria’s contingent to the IAAF World Championships in Daegu, South Korea as sent by the AFN include Gloria Asunmu 100m 4x100m,. Blessing Okagbare (100m 4x100m, Long Jump),. Damola Osayomi (100m 4x100m), Seun Adigun (100m hurdle 4x100m), Endurance Abinuwa (4x100m) and ( Agnes Osazuwa 4x100m).

Ohters include Bukola Abogunloko ( 4x400m), Margaret Etim(4x400m),  Ajoke   Odumosu (400mh,4x400m), Blessing Mayungbe(4x400m), Chizoba Okodogbe(4x400m),.Omolara Omotosho(Shot Put), Doreen Amata (High Jump), Ogho Oghene Egwero (100m), Peter Emelieze(100m), Stanley Gbagbeke(Long Jump) and Tosin Oke( Triple Jump)
