LAGOS — Two chandlers were, weekend, rescued from a capsized boat by the search and rescue team of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency, NIMASA.

They were said to be heading for a ship anchored at about five nautical miles south-east of Lagos Fairway Buoy to provide chandling services to the vessel, when the incident occurred.

The timely intervention of officers and men of the search and rescue team followed a distressed radio signal to officers on watch at the radio room of the search and rescue coordination centre, Saturday evening and the vessel location was tracked from the Regional Maritime Awareness Centre, RMAC, also located at the RMRCC.
