Enugu PDP tasks Nnaji to tackle power problem

By TONY EDIKE
ENUGU—THE Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP, in Enugu State, yesterday, urged Minister of Power, Professor Barth Nnaji, to engineer the much-needed transformation in the energy sector.

In a message to the minister by chairman of the party in the state, Chief Vita Abba, in Enugu, weekend,  the party observed that the energy sector was one major area that had posed enormous challenges to successive administrations in the country.

The party urged Nnaji to bring his professional ingenuity to bear in the discharge of his duties as a minister saddled with addressing the perennial problem of the energy sector.

“As the substantive Minister of Power, your appointment has once again demonstrated your worth and commitment towards the building of a greater Nigeria, especially on the axis of our nation’s energy sector which requires a man of integrity and professionalism.

“It has also shown the level of confidence our President reposes in you, as one of the members of his transformation team that will inject new ideas towards actualising the policy thrust of the PDP-led Federal Government of President Goodluck Jonathan, which has the issue of power high on the agenda.

“As a technocrat and subject of democratic values, we are confident that your sound track records in public and private dealings will bring about the much-awaited transformation in the power sector for our nation to enjoy steady power supply,” the party stated.

The party, therefore, prayed God to strengthen the new minister by ensuring that his new  posting yielded positive results.
