Rangers Football  Club of Enugu are currently enjoying a breath of fresh air, after months of financial debts, particularly on players sign-on-fee for the last and present season. The technical crew  are however, still being owed but spokesman of the club Foster Chime said they will soon be paid.

With the new development, players are now  charged to do better  in the remaining matches of the season and this showed last Sunday  when the team got a convincing  4-0 victory over Niger Tornadoes at the Nnamdi Azikwe Stadium in Enugu.

According to Chime, “the team  are currently  in form and we  target to  finish among the top three in the league”.
He said  that they are also targeting to lift the WAFU Cup and Federation Cup which has been shifted as a result of the involvement of the country’s clubs in continental and regional competitions. He stressed that with more motivation from the State Governor, Sullivan Chime, their goals can be achieved.

“We are still expecting more funds in the team, but the one we have gotten so far, especially players sign-on-fee, is something worth appreciating. We are very happy with the new development in the team. Players are charged to do their best to earn more so as to be on top,” Chime said

Meanwhile, Rangers will confront Kwara United  today at the  Ilorin Stadium in the first leg of the WAFU CUP second round games. It would be recalled that Rangers  got to this stage after defeating the Mighty Barolle of Liberia 5-0 in the first leg tie with the Liberians pulling out of the competition due to  financial constraints.
