Nigerian junior athletes departed for France Tuesday to participate in the IAAF world junior championships starting Thursday in Lille.
The team made up of 16 athletes are expected to compete in the sprints, middle distance races and the jumps
The athletes in the team include Nkiruka Florence Uwakwe who won 200m Gold medal at the 2010 world youth Olympics in Singapore. She would participate in the girls 400m/200m girls, others are Ada Benjamin, Rita Ossai and Abike Funmilola Egbeniyi who will participate in 800m.
Favour Efe and Ann Nwaogu are listed for the 400m hurdles.
Adebusola Adewale and Deborah Oluwaseun Odeyemi will participate in 100m girls
While Mary Oto Aruoll will participate in triple jump for girls
In the boys category Oluwarotimi Adebayo, Hary chukwudike and Mamus Emuobonurie will run the 100m and 200m, while Friday Baridora and Japhet Samuel will feature in the 400m. Chibuzor Igiliegbe is listed for the 800m, while Chiebonam Mba will compete in 400m hurdles.
