Tough times await criminals in Edo

Criminals are in for a hard time in Edo State, as the State Police Command took delivery of one Armoured Personnel Carrier and five Armoured Multi-Purpose vehicles in Benin City yesterday.

Unveiling the crime-fighting vehicles at the Police headquarters, Governor Adams Oshiomhole said the facilities will serve to send a renewed notice to criminals that the state will be too hot for them and they should relocate.
The Governor who was obviously elated at the arrival of the crime-fighting vehicles which can also be used for bomb detection and riot control said “I want to thank the Inspector-General of Police for making these facilities available.

The sight of these facilities is enough to put criminals to flight.

“We will continue to cooperate and collaborate with the state Police Command to put criminals out of business in the state, and in whatever way we can contribute to this, we will do so .”

The Governor who hailed the state Police Commissioner said the state remains one of the safest in the South-South region and indeed in the country. He told Commissioner Omojola “we indeed appreciate your leadership of the command. I know what your men and officers experience, when they know what to do, thee have the will to do it but lack the facilities to do it. We thank the Inspector-General for making the facilities available.”

Earlier, the Commissioner of Police, Mr. David Omojola  assured the Governor that with the new equipment, the Police will put criminals to flight. “We will not disappoint, we will put criminals to flight, we won’t allow them to operate. With this additionl equipment, we will ensure that the state is safe for development”, he said.

The Police Commissioner said the Armoured Personnel Carrier and armoured multi-purpose vans can be used interchangeably for the purpose of attack and defence.

He said the command appreciates all the government has been doing for the Command in terms of logistics to make its work easier, saying the Command is loyal to the State Government led byb Comrade Oshiomhole.
