Professionals in the Nigerian communications industry would be charting a new course out of the economic malaise for the marketing communication sector at the next session of M2 Brandwagon Roundatable, organised by M2 Weekly, a Marketing and Management tabloid.
The event slated for May 26 in Lagos would have as keynote speaker authorities in the industry, which include Josef Bel Molokwu, former President of the Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria (APCON) and faulty member of the Lagos Business School.
The theme of the May Roundtable is ‘Endangered species! Is there a future for the IMC professional?’
According to the organisers, the discussion is premised on the harsh realities currently confronting the marketing communications industry, particularly in Nigeria, as the world cautiously recovers from the devastating effects of the global economic meltdown of the last two years.
According to Mr Akin Adeoya, Publisher, M2 Weekly, “this discussion cannot come at a more appropriate time for a fragile industry already burdened by issues of poor regulatory and legal framework, meritocracy and talent retention. The consequences of the meltdown have been wide sweeping. Whereas professionals recommend that companies invest hugely in communications in crisis times to ensure top_of_mind awareness post_crisis.
