CAP to unveil dulux colour of the year

In its bid to consistently provide fresh and accurate information as well as contribute to the living standard of its consumers, Chemical and Allied Products (CAP) Plc, a subsidiary of UACN Plc and also the technological licensee of AkzoNobel, the world’s largest paints and coatings company and producers of Dulux Paint, is set to unveil the Dulux Colour of the Year on 25th May 2011.

This was disclosed by the Marketing Manager, Mr. Dominic Oladeji. According to him, Dulux Colour of the Year is a concept that reinforces Dulux as a global authority in colour.

He further stressed that, once a year, the Aesthetic Centre of AkzoNobel meets with an international group of creative experts from the fields of colour, design, architecture and fashion, all with their fingers on the pulse of what is happening in trends and colours, to discuss and decide which colour shades will be dominantly used globally during the year. A colour is then picked out of the colour shades as the most likely prominent colour shade for the year.

He added that this year’s Colour of the Year will be revealed in a grand style in association with the attributes of the colour that has been discovered to have such an amazing impact on the world.

The 2011 Colour of the Year will be a continuing move towards colour that is cleaner in character and such more optimistic and hopeful in the feeling it creates. This colour shade brings joy and charm to people’s lives and creates an overriding mood of clarity and freshness.

With over 12,000 colours, Dulux is established as the custodian of knowledge in the area of colours with the objective of helping customers realize their wellbeing; it has consistently and innovatively introduced different colours to its customers worldwide over the years.

CAP Plc, being part of the AkzoNobel global family, has always been involved in the Dulux Colour of the Year unveiling. In 2006, Kiwi Crush was the colour of the year, while Candy Love, Majestic Yellow, Cool Jade and Jazz Blue were the different colours of the year between 2007 and 2010 respectively.
