*Describes allegation as a panic measure

ENUGU- FACTIONAL Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Enugu State, Sir Caesar Okey Ogbonna, has dismissed as false allegation by Enugu State governor, Sullivan Chime, that Justice Gladys K. Olotu of the Federal High Court, Abuja, handling the pre-election matter involving the party’s governorship candidates in the state has a relationship with the family of the former National Chairman of the party, Dr. Okwesilieze Nwodo.

He described the allegation as a panic measure and an attempt by the governor and members of his political camp to truncate or pervert justice over the glaring injustice orchestrated by them during the party primaries.

Speaking with reporters in Enugu, against the backdrop of the petition sent to the Chairman of the National Judicial Council, NJC, by Governor Sullivan Chime, Ogbonna said it was wrong to accuse the presiding judge of any breach of the law in the course of hearing the matter brought before her by Alex Obiechina, a PDP governorship aspirant, simply because she decided to live above board in discharging her function.

He said: “Justice Olotu is only discharging her responsibility as a judge in this matter and there is no evidence whatsoever to show that she has vested interest in the governorship of Enugu State or the PDP crisis in the state.”
