Holy Mallam rocks as Sheila Solarin grabs MTN N2M

Who Deserves to be a Millionaire?’ an extension of the popular TV programme, ‘Who Wants to be a Millionaire’ sponsored by MTN Nigeria last Sunday debuted with its first episode for Season 7 which commenced a few weeks ago.

The segment’s primary objective is to recognise and reward the aged ones who have contributed positively to the society.

On the hot seat for the first episode of was Sheila Solarin, widow of Tai Solarin, human rights activist and founder of Mayflower Schools.

At age 86 and despite suffering from Parkinson disease, Sheila is still actively running Mayflower maintaining the school’s reputable standard. With her commitment to providing quality education to Nigerian children, her winning money will go into the running of the school.

Assisted on the hot seat by ace comedian, Holy Mallam and Bimbo Adelakun, a columnist with Punch Newspapers, Sheila livened up the studio with her intermittent display of her academic prowess by providing answers to questions which her assistants found a bit difficult. She eventually walked away with N2 million.

At a point while on the hot seat, Sheila advised her two young assistants, ‘Always ask a mother whenever in doubt.’
Holy Mallam on his part did not disappoint as he spiced up the show with his earthy jokes.

Sheila was full of gratitude to MTN for sponsoring the platform which has impacted positively on such individuals as former Nigerian goalkeeper Peter Fregene and Pa Akinkunmi, the designer of Nigeria’s national flag.
