LAGOS -Access Bank Plc has asked a Federal High Court sitting in Lagos to commit the Chief of Naval Staff, Rear Admiral Sa’ad Ola Ibrahim, to prison for allegedly disobeying an order  of the court by forcefully taking possession of a property in Ikoyi, Lagos.

The bank had sued Ibrahim,  Governor Babatunde Fashola of Lagos State and others over a property located on 7, Ojora Street, Ikoyi. Other defendants to the suit are Lagos State Attorney General, Supo Sasore, SAN, Nigerian Navy, Cybernetics International Limited and Andy Isichei.

According to the bank, it advanced various facilities to Cybernetics and Isichei, and the said property was used as security for the facilities while at the expiration of the tenure of the facilities, the said Cybernetics and Isichei entered into a term of settlement, offering the property as full and final settlement of the indebtedness.

The bank added that on June 4, 2010, it was surprised to receive some officers of Nigerian Navy,  who claimed that the property had been re-allocated to the Nigerian Navy and the Chief of Naval Staff by the Lagos State government as a result of the demolition of another property belonging to the Nigerian Navy by the state government.
