The Leaders of non-indigenous groups in Bayelsa State yesterday rallied support for the actualization of the governorship ambition of the former Special Adviser to the President on Niger Delta Affairs, Mr. Timi Alaibe, who is contesting under the platform of the Labour Party in the forthcoming governorship poll in the state.
While asking the people of the state to consider the records of all governorship aspirants and vote for the Labour Party candidate, the leaders of the Yoruba, Igbo, Hausa and Edo communities in the state said though the issue of incumbency was considered alongside the performance of the present administration, the decision to throw their weight behind the Timi Alaibe governorship aspiration was based on the conviction that he would do more for the state as he had done during his tenure at the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, and the Amnesty Committee.
The non-indigene groups in a statement issued at the end of an enlarged leadership conference in Yenagoa, said the non-indigenes working and living in the state had considered the policies and programmes of the present administration with respect to standard of living and development and found it below expectations.
