Former Gombe United Football Club Chairman, Alhaji Gara Gombe has said the African Nation’s Cup qualifier between the Super Eagles  and Ethiopia will serve as a litmus test for Samson Siasia as coach of the national  team.

Disclosing this to Saturday Vanguard sports, Gombe said amongst all  the matches Siasia has handled as the coach of the senior team, tomorrow’s tie against Ethiopia will prove is worth.

“As far as I am concerned, the Nigeria, Ethiopia match will be a litmus test for Siasia Samson, and he has to be very careful with it.  I do not  see the Sierra Leonian match as a  test because the Ethiopian match is much more competitive than any other game he has handled since he became Eagles’  coach.

The match against Sierra Leone in Lagos was a just friendly game. So it is the result that we get from the Ethiopia match that will enable us  rate the  performance of Siasia.

However, nobody knows the team. Secondly, no body knows the psychological aspect of the players and  nobody knows the pattern of the team and lastly, nobody knows the preparation of the team.

I’m not too sure how the team would play  but that is going to be a test. And I have also said that whether  Siasia is  the most popular person in Nigeria, or the best coach or the fans favourite, the day he loses a friendly match or the one against Ethiopia, he will know the stuff Nigerians are made of,” Gombe said.
