BY OLA AJAYI

IBADAN –   INDEPENDENT Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, ICPC, has warned that corruption remains the major hindrance to Nigeria’s realization of vision 20-20-20 Millennium Goals.

For the desired goals of the vision to be achieved, the commission, through its Head in Oyo/Ogun Zonal Office, Mr. Olusesan Olukile said there must be strict compliance with rules and regulation, observation of good internal transparency, rules and regulation, proper internal control and supervisory mechanism.
In addition, there must be adherence to ethical and moral values and transparent procedures for award of contracts.

He said these at a sensitization seminar organised for staff of Nigerian Institute of Social and Economic Research, NISER,  yesterday.

Speaking on the theme, ‘’Focussing on transparency: Understanding the basis of the anti-corruption campaign in Nigeria’’ he explained that corruption was a serious issue of immediate concern if Nigeria was to meet the demand of the 20-20-20 Millennium goals.
