Amosun accuses Daniel of non-remittance of deducted workers’ pay

BY KOLADE LAREWAJU

ABEOKUTA  – THE Ogun State governorship candidate of the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, Senator  Ibikunle Amosun yesterday, said Governor Olugbenga Daniel administration was very callous, accusing it of spending deducted workers’ money from Cooperative and Pension Funds without remittance to the appropriate agencies.

Speaking  yesterday at an interactive session with the State Labour Congress, NLC,    Amosun said the action of Governor Daniel was an act of “man’s inhumanity to man.”

He said “Daniel’s administration is callous. He resorted to mismanaging the funds of the state. He deducts for cooperative and pension and he did not remit them to the appropriate places. Instead of  putting them in where  they should be; they keep  on spending the workers savings. It is man’s inhumanity to man. How  can you spend cooperative and pension funds? I don’t think any sane government would do that”.

Amosun told the labour leaders that irrespective of the decision on new minimum wage,  if elected as governor he would ensure that a “living wage” would be paid to them.
