Senatorial aspirant alleges threat to life

BY PETER OKUTU

ABAKALIKI -Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, candidate for Ebonyi South senatorial district of Ebonyi State, Darlington Okereke, yesterday accused some prominent chieftains of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the state of plotting to assassinate him before next month’s elections.

He alleged that the reasons behind the plot were for PDP to scuttle his political profile and cut short his senatorial ambition as a way of humiliating him for decamping to ACN.

Okereke, who represents Ohaozara/Onicha/Ivo Federal Constituency in the Federal House of Representatives, also alleged that his detractors had another plan of planting incriminating evidence in his compound to cause his arrest and detention till the elections were over.
