Some leaders of Yewa Awori in the Ogun West Senatorial District will meet today at Ilaro to resolve the lingering political crisis between their two sons vying for governorship of the state.
The two sons are the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP’s, candidate, Chief Adetunji Olurin and Peoples Party of Nigeria, PPN, flag-bearer, Prince Nasir Gboyega Isiaka.
The leaders were said to be uncomfortable with presenting two candidates from the same zone.
However, some invited leaders, according to sources, have resolved to boycott the meeting because it was a decoy to persuade Isiaka to step down for Olurin.
A source invited to the meeting claimed trap had been set to force the attendees to sign a communique to endorse Olurin as a consensus candidate of the zone.
The source said the meeting was planned by some people outside the senatorial district after they had sown a seed of discord among politicians in the zone..
