Court halts ACN House of Reps candidate’s campaign

By Victor Ahiuma-Young

A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has restrained an Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, House of Representatives candidate for Amuwo Odofin Federal Constituency, Lagos State, Mrs. Susan Olapeju Simisola Olley, from parading herself as the candidate for the April election.

The current member of the House Representatives in the area,  Ganiyu Olatunji Olukolu, had sought the order of the court, following what he described as irregularity during the primary election which he claimed he won, but that his name was substituted by that of Mrs. Olley.

According to Olukolu, Olley was never at the ACME Road, Ogba, and Lagos venue of the election and was surprised that her name appeared on the list of candidate that would contest the various positions for ACN at the polls.

After complaints to party leaders over the issue failed, he approached the court which  ruled in his favour.
Hon. Olukolu is the current member representing Amuwo-Odofin  Federal Constituency in the House of Representative and is seeking to return to the House for a second term.

A Chartered Accountant, he is  from the River-rine Area of Ibeshe Town in Oriade Local Government Development Area of Lagos State.
