THE Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Edo state received a major boost yesterday ahead the April general elections, as former Chief Whip of the Senate, Senator Rowland Owie, former military administrator of Cross River State, AVM Gregory Agboneni, and Edo South senatorial aspirant in the last primaries of the party, Pharm.Mathew Urhohide, dumped the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) for the PDP.

They joined the PDP with thousands of their supporters in a well attended rally, held at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium Benin City. Owie who addressed the mammoth crowd, said “evil spirit inflicted the Edo ACN”, and called for total support for President Goodluck Jonathan and the senatorial candidate of the party in Edo South, Senator Daisy Danjuma.

Leaders of the PDP present at the rally include the state Chairman of the party, Chief Dan Orbih, former Governor of the state, Prof Osarhiemen Osunbor, former Minister of Defense, Gen.Godwin Abbe, former Deputy Governor of the state, Mr Lucky Imasuen, Governorship aspirant, Prof.Julius Ihonbvere, Owere Dickson Imasogie, Paschal Ugbome and several other leaders of the party in the state.

Owie told the crowd that “what has happened to ACN in Edo state is contained in Luke Chapter 8 verses 36 to 39 on that day our Lord Jesus Christ was coming from the garden of Gethsemane and he saw a man that was possessed with evil spirit and the man knelt down and cried to Jesus, father save me because I am possessed, God asked him, what are you possessed of he said legion of evil spirit and then legion of evil spirits begged God to allow them enter into the swine around.

The swine rushed into the ocean and got destroyed.

“PDP saw Jesus Christ and knelt down and said father I am possessed of evil spirit. God exorcised PDP and removed all the evil spirit in them and handed them over to the ACN. PDP became free and ACN became poisoned so that is why we are here today” he stated.

On his part, Chief Orbih, who declared that “PDP is back in Edo state”, carpeted that ACN led government. “They promised they are going to turn Edo state into a construction site  but today, Edo state has been turned into a site of abandoned projects, we know they have come to the end of the road where the people can no longer be deceived by empty promises, they have preached one man one vote but they have shown that they no longer believe in the one  man one vote.
