Intercontinental Bank has commence moves to dominate the retail banking space with strategic deliverables initiated to reposition its service delivery and improve its bottom-line with the aim of optimizing its financial performance for the year 2011.
Declaring open the annual management seminar, Mr. Mahmoud Lai Alabi, the Group Managing Director/ Chief Executive, hinted that the future of the Bank will be intricably linked with a new retail banking model that would set the pace in the banking industry.
In achieving the vision, Alabi said that the Bank would review its retail strategy, pay greater attention to customer-friendly products deployment, driven by e-banking and backed by efficient service delivery at all levels
Alabi canvassed for a radical growth of the bank’s deposit through collections and marketing of retail products.
He also explained that the Bank would enshrine a robust risk management culture and a healthy risk assets base with a view to ensuring that the Bank’s Asset’s quality remains very high.
Alabi projected that monumental changes would occur in structure of banking in the country, with each Bank focusing on its niche market where their strength can be efficiently deployed to extract value.
The Intercontinental Bank boss urged its top management to cultivate new attitudinal change and continuously devise strategies to return the Bank to reckoning in the industry, build synergies and value on scale unattained by any other financial institution in the country.
