Two strikes from Super Eagles forward, Peter Osaze Odemwingie  gave West Brom maximum points in their home game against hard-fighting Blackpool who drew the first blood in the encounter at The Hawthorns.

Odemwingie’s brace ended a run of five successive Premier League defeats for the homers.With only 11 minutes of play, the visitors shot into the lead through David Vaughan’s delightful curler and the scores remained so until the 38th minute when  Graham Dorrans’ clipped pass from the left found Odemwingie in acres of space inside the box with Blackpool appealing for offside and the Baggies top scorer coolly slides the ball home for his seventh of the season.

According to the BBC, ït was a thoroughly entertaining first 45 minutes and West Brom dominated large chunks of the first half  before Vaughan’s opener.

The second was  not less entertaining and in the 38th minute,  James Morrison tapped in from close range, but Gary Taylor-Fletcher’s back-post shot in the 80th minute looked to have earned the angerines a point as he cancelled the lead at 2-2.

However, Odemwingie was not done yet as he volleyed in a deserved winner for a dominant Albion.
The home side will hope the result sparks life into a campaign that began to falter with a 2-1 defeat at Blackpool at the start of November.

Initially, the Baggies, whose loss to Reading in the FA Cup last weekend was their sixth in succession, looked nervous.
And their porous defence, which had conceded 39 goals this season before this game, almost conceded its 40th inside the opening 90 seconds.

DJ Campbell twisted and turned inside Albion’s box before poking his effort just wide of Boaz Myhill’s right-hand post.
