Acn chieftain warns against skewing party primaries

By Simon Ebegbulem
BENIN—AHEAD the forthcoming primaries of the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, in Edo State, a chieftain of the party and Edo South senatorial aspirant, Mr Mathew Urhohide, yesterday, warned that it will be “hypocrisy”, if the primaries of the party is skewed in favour of particular candidates by the leaders.”

He said that in as much as the party was leading the campaign for one-man one-vote, it would be destroying the party if free and fair primaries were not conducted, just as he, however, expressed optimism that the leadership of the party will abide by the principle of one-man one- vote as being propagated by Governor Adams Oshiomhole.

Meanwhile, ACN youths from Ikpoba Okhai Local Government Area of the state, yesterday, accused the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Mr Osarodion Ogie of campaigning for one of the senatorial aspirants, Senator Ehigie Uzamere, on the excuse that it was the instruction of the Governor.

But Mr Ogie described the allegation as untrue and another attempt to tarnish his image politically.
