Jos — The PDP in Plateau has disqualified 25 aspirants seeking elections into the state’s House of Assembly.
The disqualification followed the recent screening of the aspirants.

Mr. Raymond Dabo, the deputy chairman of the PDP in the state, said that 126 aspirants were cleared.
“We have issued clearance certificates to the 126 aspirants who successfully met the criteria required by the screening committee,” he said.

The deputy chairman, however, failed to give reason for the disqualification.
Dabo also disclosed that 58 persons aspiring for various positions at the National Assembly, NASS, were equally screened on December 29 and 30.

On the number of people disqualified among the NASS aspirants, the deputy chairman said the number was “not insignificant”.

“I am sure a few were disqualified but I can’t give the exact figure since I am not in the office now.
“Our joy is that everything went on smoothly and peacefully,” he said.

Dabo said the party had already made adequate preparations for the primaries starting on Monday.
