By Dayo Johnson, Akure
SIX months after his deposition as Deji of Akureland, Prince Oluwadare Adesina Adepoju is to face an extended one year banishment.

The Ondo State Government which announced the extention of the banishment Friday however, granted his request for medical treatment abroad after signing a letter of undertaking to be of good behavior.

Prince Adepoju was deposed and banished for engaging in an act unbecoming of a traditional ruler.

Information Commissioner Ranti Akerele and the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice Eyitayo Jegede SAN told newsmen that the deposition on June 10 was subject to review.

Akerele said, “The new development was premised on a letter from the ex-Deji to the state government requesting its approval to travel abroad for medical treatment in which he pledged to be of good behavior.

”At the end of the initial six months, Council reviewed the situation, deliberated on it, modified the order and granted his request to travel abroad.

“In granting the request, Council resolved that the banishment be extended for the next one year and that under no condition must the subject come within Akure South and Akure North Local Government Areas being the local communities associated with the throne of Deji of Akureland”.
