Nkwocha dreams retirement with a spectacular World Cup

By Kate Obodo
After a brilliant display in the just concluded Africa Women Championship, AWC in South Africa, Super Falcons’ striker Perpetua Nwkocha says she hopes to put up a better outing at the forthcoming World Cup in Germany.

Speaking with Saturday Vanguard Sports, Nkwocha said she plans to work hard so as to help the Super Falcons perform better at the World Cup.

Nkwocha, who plans to retire after the World Cup, says the World Cup is a good platform for her to bow out and she plans to do so in style, by scoring as many goals as possible.

“I’m aiming toward my retirement in style and I hope to give it a happy and remarkable end by scoring goals as much as I can. No doubt, it will be a plus.

“I think World Cup next year in Germany will be my last World Cup. If I become the African footballer of the Year I will not be surprised, because I deserve it. Like I said earlier, if I get good motivation, just as I got in South Africa, I could even do better than I did at the AWC. By God’s grace, the World Cup in Germany will be wonderful. What we need now is to play more international friendlies,” she said.
