ACTIVISTS under aegis of 21st Century Youths of Niger Delta and Agitators with Conscience, yesterday, declared Operation Good over Evil in the Niger Delta region, issuing a notice to the Nigerian Army that they would not accept soldiers doing the bidding of any political party in today’s Gubernatorial and state House of Assembly elections.

The youths in a communiqué by self-styled “General” Izon Ebi, issued after an emergency meeting in Ikot Abasi, Akwa Ibom state, to review the just concluded Presidential/National Assembly polls and today’s polls, said, “We have decided to declare Operation Good over Evil in the Niger Delta region since the Nigerian Army has reduced itself to partisanship and election rigging.”
“We, therefore, use this medium to advise the Nigerian Army to stay clear from our electoral process and concentrate on its mandate of protecting lives, properties and territory integrity of Nigeria.
“The Niger Delta people must be allowed to freely choose their leaders to represent them. We are not going to tolerate the use of the Nigerian Army in any in our election process. We will not tolerate the snatching of ballot boxes and intimidation of our people.
“We condemn the plan of invasion and capture of the Niger Delta states by the APC and the Nigerian Army.
