Awka- STILL basking in the euphoria of the reelection of President Muhammadu Buhari, his support group, ‘I Stand With Buhari’ said Wednesday that government business would be smoother during the president’s second term because his party, the All Progressives Congress, APC, has secured simple majority in the national assembly.

Anambra State coordinator of the group, Dr. Chekwube Ijeoma who addressed reporters in Awka observed that passing executive bills would be easier, unlike the present situation where the leadership of the national assembly appears not to be cooperating with the executive arm of government.
“Passing bills will no longer be a problem as APC has got the majority in the two chambers of the national assembly,” he said.

According to him, the assurance of the group is that the Igbo nation would not be left behind in the scheme of thing, adding that as a man of honour and character, he would be fair to all.
Ijeoma commended members of the group for their hard work, which, he said, had been crowned with victory.
He said: “We have been on campaign to ensure his reelection and we are happy to be part of the celebration. Our sensitization in this part of the country helped to improve the president’s performance in Anambra State.
“The number of votes he scored in the South East would have been less if not for our mobilization. We are grateful to God that Buhari will pilot the affairs of the country for the next four years”.
He said that some people were not happy at the reelection of Buhari as the president, adding that the first time in the country, some elites were crying because they did not want the president to emerge winner, knowing what he would do.
