BENIN — NATIONAL Agency for Food, Drug Administration and Control, NAFDAC, Thursday, raided some major markets in Benin, the state capital and made a number of seizures and arrests.
The NAFDAC operatives, who were in company of policemen, stormed the Mission Road area, where fake products were seized in large quantities.
Alleged marketers of the fake drugs were seen being whisked into waiting vans by the operatives.
Among items seized, included Heinz baked beans and an assortment of wines.
The leader of NAFDAC team, Mr. Dodoyi West, said they acted on information. “We got information and we acted. You can see the extent of the damage these can cause to the people,” he said.
