Police parade 6 suspected abductors of Lulu’s mother

Lokoja — The Kogi Police Command has paraded six persons suspected of kidnapping the mother of Mr Sani Lulu, a former chairman of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).

Hajiya Laruba Lulu was abducted in early August in Lokoja.

Alhaji Abdullahi Magaji, the Commissioner of Police in the state, in Lokoja, paraded Ezeagu Chukwuebuka, Nnamdi Okafor, Paul Oretuize, Chinedu Okoye, Sunday Nwachukwu and Lawrence Okagbua as the suspects.

Magaji said a ransom of N4.5 million was paid to the suspects before Laruba was released and explained that they were arrested at a hideout in Anambra.

He claimed that two distant relations of the victim, now at large, had contracted the six suspects at Idah, the country home of the former NFF boss, to carry out the abduction.

On interrogation, the suspects confessed to their involvement in the crime.

Their leader, Okafor, who claimed to be an Enugu_based businessman, said he got N500,000 as his share of the ransom.

Magaji also paraded 23 suspects for various crimes ranging from car theft, armed robbery, murder to attempted kidnapping.

He advised the public to be more security conscious, especially with Christmas fast approaching.
